Yarida Estrada

She attended the University of New Mexico and Central New Mexico Community College to study environmental science and writing. While going to school and working, Yarida became involved in her community during the general elections in 2008. She started by canvassing the streets of Albuquerque to “get out the vote.” Today, she has continued to build connections by co-creating events centered around honoring women, art and cultura of the southwest. Yarida is the co-founder and co-coordinator of Yaxche a women’s group and the “Last Minute Navidad” event.
